Narrated by actor John Krasinski, ASCE has created another IMAX film, Cities of the Future. You're invited to a free screening, hosted by the YMG! ASCE Maryland Professional Objectives Committee & YMG Present: PE Exam Prep Panel

It's easy to feel lost while preparing for the Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) Exam, so join us to find some guidance in our virtual PE Prep Panel and Q&A discussion! A group of engineers who have previously taken the exam have volunteered their time to provide the Younger Members Group with studying tips, test taking strategies, and helpful resources for the exam. Don’t miss out on this chance to get ahead of the curve! Plus, one lucky attendee will receive an exam materials giveaway!

YMG Meals on Wheels Volunteering

The YMG invites you to join us for volunteering with Meals on Wheels! We will be working together indoors for a meal packing event, at the main office at 515 S. Haven St. in Baltimore. You MUST submit a volunteer application, and RSVP to complete your registration. In the application, please add to the comments that you're part of the ASCE YMG group event. Registration closes on Jan. 6th, so act fast and sign up now!

This opportunity requires volunteers to stand for 3 hours, participate in activities that require lifting, reaching, and bending continuously, and work on a fast paced box packing line. There is no background check or orientation required for this one-time event. We hope to see you there!

ASCE Maryland Professional Objectives Committee & YMG Present: FE Exam Prep Panel

Are you ready to take the first big step into professional engineering licensure? ASCE Maryland Professional Objectives Committee & Younger Member Group are pleased to partner together to host the second virtual Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Prep Panel, at noon EST on January 18th! Much like the semi-annual PE Exam Prep Panel, this FE Exam Prep Panel will have panelists who have passed the Civil or Environmental FE exam within the last 12 months. These panelists will share tips and tricks on how to prepare and pass the exam. Bonus: all registered attendees will be entered to win exam materials*, courtesy of the ASCE Maryland Professional Objectives Committee!

Future City National Competition - Judges Needed!

Calling all engineers and STEM-related professionals! Here is an opportunity to give back to a future generation of young engineers. The Future City National competition is in need of presentation judges. The event is in Washington, D.C., in-person. Details are below.

WHERE: Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill, 400 New Jersey Ave NW, Washington, DC

WHEN: Monday, February 20th from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm

WHAT: Each year middle school students are tasked with looking to the future and building a city that adapts to the coming changes of society, resource availability, and economics. As a judge you’ll serve on a panel with other volunteers to assess the students’ models and presentations.

HOW: The event organizers provide a quick training, detailed rubrics and scoresheets, plus breakfast and lunch!
